Event Description Legendary editor Judith Jones created the cookbooks that shaped the American culinary awakening of the last half century (and brought us some of our favorite novels, stories and non-fiction too). When she visits GCC, she'll talk about her groundbreaking work with James Beard, Julia Child, MFK Fisher, Marian Cunningham, Lidia Bastianich, Marcella Hazan, Jacques Pepin, Madhur Jaffrey, Edna Lewis and many other great cooks and writers. The author of many cookbooks herself, Judith will also share her store of kitchen knowledge, recipes and techniques--and the firm conviction that cooking at home, at any age, is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
Judith Jones's recent books -- the critically acclaimed memoir The Tenth Muse and her most recent cookbook, The Pleasures of Cooking for One -- will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
This talk is free and open to the public. Donations of food or cash for the GCC food pantry gratefully accepted! |
